MACD Trend Strategy MT5 is a trend-following trading system designed to generate buy and sell signals based on the MACD trend indicator, filtered by additional tools for enhanced accuracy. It is suitable for volatile currency pairs and utilizes the MT5 platform.

Setup

Timeframes:
30-minute (M30), 1-hour (H1), and 4-hour (H4).
Currency Pairs:
Preferably volatile pairs for higher opportunities.
Platform:
MetaTrader 5 (MT5).

Indicators

Trend Detector (Default Settings):
- Displays a cloud on the main chart.
- Below candles: Positive trend (bullish).
- Above candles: Negative trend (bearish).
ADX Trend (Default Settings) – Filter:
- Displays a histogram below the chart.
- Green bars: Positive trend.
- Red bars: Negative trend.
MACD Trend (Default Settings):
- Plots arrows and dots on the chart:
  - Green arrow/dot: Uptrend signal.
  - Red arrow/dot: Downtrend signal.
Simple MACD (Default Settings) – Filter:
- Displays a histogram:
  - Green bars: Positive trend.
  - Red bars: Negative trend.

Trading Rules

Buy Setup

Entry Signals:
1. MACD Trend shows a green dot or arrow (indicating an uptrend).
2. ADX Trend histogram is green.
3. Simple MACD histogram is green.
4. Trend Detector cloud is below the candles (positive trend).
Exit Rules:
1. Stop Loss: Place at the previous swing low.
2. Take Profit: Set with a risk-reward ratio of 1:1.2 to 1:1.5, depending on market volatility.

Sell Setup

Entry Signals:
1. MACD Trend shows a red dot or arrow (indicating a downtrend).
2. ADX Trend histogram is red.
3. Simple MACD histogram is red.
4. Trend Detector cloud is above the candles (negative trend).
Exit Rules:
1. Stop Loss: Place at the previous swing high.
2. Take Profit: Set with a risk-reward ratio of 1:1.2 to 1:1.5, depending on market volatility.

Additional Tips

Monitor volatile market sessions (e.g., London and New York) for better trading opportunities.
Ensure proper money management, risking no more than 1-2% of your trading account per trade.
Backtest and forward-test the strategy on demo accounts before live trading.
